Dr. Marchman

Krista M. Marchman, Ph.D., is the founder and director of Educational Consulting Associates, Inc., an independent school psychology practice specializing in psycho-educational assessment and therapeutic consultation for children, adolescents, young adults and their families. Dr. Marchman has 20 years of experience in diagnostic evaluation, educational therapy and parenting consultation. Having worked as a school psychologist in Louisiana and Georgia and as a learning disabilities specialist and educational psychologist for the Medical Center of Central Georgia’s Institute for Developmental Medicine, Dr. Marchman is experienced in both clinical and educational settings. Additionally, she has conducted numerous community workshops and seminars for parents and professionals about children with learning and attention problems and their co-occurring conditions, and she offers six-week parenting courses several times throughout the year for parents seeking to raise resilient children. Dr. Marchman has been an adjunct professor at Valencia Community College where she has taught developmental and general psychology courses.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Dr. Marchman received her training through the National Professional Consortium in Attention Disorders (NPC) at the Medical Center of Central Georgia’s Institute for Developmental Medicine. She has done research in the areas of nonverbal learning disabilities and Asperger’s Syndrome. The research and training, along with her considerable experience in various settings, have enabled her to become highly specialized in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of neuro-developmental disorders, such as ADHD, learning disabilities, Asperger’s Syndrome and nonverbal learning disabilities, as well as in the differential diagnosis of other co-occurring childhood psychiatric conditions such as childhood bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. Dr. Marchman has had great success working extensively with teachers, students and their families regarding educational programming, strategy design and intervention.

Dr. Marchman is licensed by the State of Florida to practice as an independent School Psychologist. She also holds certifications as a School Psychologist in Florida and Georgia.
